A few days before commemorating the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Havana, the workers of Banco Exterior de Cuba celebrated the 20th anniversary of the institution, which identifies as one of its strengths its location in one of the busiest streets of the capital: La Rampa.
During a solemn act, awards were given to the active founders and workers who have accomplished 5; 10; 15; 35 and 40 years of work, and a special tribute to Jacobo Peison Wainer, founding president BEC was made.
On behalf of the founders, Mrs. Dayimí Denis Avila, Secretary of BEC, recalled the effort of the team that built the bank we have today. She also highlighted the efforts of active founders and others who, for various reasons no longer integrate the staff, but without whose passion it would have been impossible to have the results achieved today by this banking institution.
In addition, Mrs. Denis highlighted the privilege of recalling and recognizing participation in so many positive events and emphasized the challenges that BEC must face today, so she called the staff to work together.
Mrs. Marta Wilson González, president of Banco Exterior de Cuba, closed the act with her remarks, in which she reaffirmed the value of the work done previously and the need to continue working with the perspective of giving the best each day, because that is the only way Banco Exterior de Cuba can achieve its goal of providing a service of excellence and become one of the best banks of our country.
When considering the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana, the 20th anniversary of Banco Exterior de Cuba might seem too few. Two decades of professional dedication to the task of contributing to finance the economy are enough to build the prestige and image that we are called to defend and maintain for future years, for the good of the Cuban economy, and therefore, of our people and our families. It would make the new BEC slogan a reality: We shorten distances, finance development.
